Fluch jenem Tag, da ich zuerst ward inne
Eurer verräterischen Augen Blitze!
Fluch dem Moment, da Ihr des Herzens Zinne
Erstiegt, - die Seele raubtet ihrem Sitze!

Fluch auch der Feile, die in holder Minne
Zart Worte glättet! Fluch dem Aberwitze,
Durch den ich bunte Reime Euch ersinne,
Der Mitwelt Ruhm Euch gebe zum Besitze!

Fluch dem Gedächtnis, das nicht will verhallen
Und nicht verwischen, was den Tod mir brachte:
Dein Unheilsbild, du Minnigste von allen!

Manch frevlen Wunsch ließ Minne drob erschallen,
Daß ihrer, meiner oftmals Alles lachte,
Wollt' ich dem Glücksrad in die Speichen fallen!
