Terms of Use
PoemLake is a free library of poems. By using the site you agree to these terms. They were last updated on 31 October 2026.
Reading and sharing
You are welcome to read the poems, print them, link to any page, and use them in classrooms, libraries, study and personal projects. A link back to PoemLake is appreciated but not required.
Copyright in the poems
PoemLake does not claim copyright in the poems. Most are old enough to be in the public domain in many countries, but copyright terms differ from country to country, and a translation can be protected separately from the original poem. Before republishing a text, check its status where you are. See About PoemLake for where the texts come from.
The site itself
The PoemLake name, design, site code, and text we wrote ourselves, such as introductions and descriptions, remain ours. Please do not copy the site or the collection as a whole, or use automated tools in a way that disrupts it.
Rights holders and corrections
If you hold the rights to a text on this site and want it removed, or you have found a mistake, email info@poemlake.com. Please include the page address.
Links and purchases
Some pages link to other websites, including Amazon. We do not control those sites and a link is not an endorsement. As an Amazon Associate, PoemLake earns from qualifying purchases. Anything you buy there is between you and the seller.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is". The texts are transcriptions and may contain errors, and we do not promise that the site will always be available, accurate or complete.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, PoemLake is not liable for damages arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict of law provisions. This does not take away mandatory protections you have as a consumer where you live.
