Hervor aus meiner Herrin Augen bricht
So holder Schein, daß da, wo er entglommen,
Man Dinge sieht, wie man sie nie vernommen,
Weil hohes, neues Wesen daraus spricht.

Und auf mein Herze regnet dieses Licht
Solch eine Furcht, daß bebend und beklommen
Ich sag’: „Nie will ich wieder dorthin kommen!“
Doch bald ist jeglicher Entschluß zunicht.

Wo ich besiegt ward, dahin kehr’ ich wieder,
Hol’ neuen Mut den Augen, die in Bangen
Der jüngst verspürten großen Macht gedachten.

Doch bin ich dort, so schließen sich die Lider,
Erlischt selbst, was sie antrieb – das Verlangen:
Drum möge Minne meines Zustands achten!
