I offered Being for it ;

I take — no less than skies —

For Earths, grow thick as

Berries, in my native town —


My Basket holds — just — Firmaments —

Those — dangle easy — on my arm,

But smaller...

Poet:

        I thought the Soul of Song had made

            This heart of mine her sepulchre;

        For all her golden dreams had fled,

            And I could win no note from her.

 

        But when for thee thou bid'...

Poet:

Whose are the little beds, I asked

Which in the valleys lie?

Some shook their heads, and others smiled —

And no one made reply.
