• I lost a World — the other day!

    Has Anybody found?

You'll know it by the Row of Stars

    Around its forehead bound.

A Rich man — might not notice it —

Yet — to my frugal Eye,

Of more Esteem than Ducats —

Oh find it — Sir — for me!

  • Not in this World to see his face —

Sounds long — until I read the place

Where this — is said to be

But just the Primer — to a life —

Unopened — rare — Upon the Shelf —

Clasped yet — to Him — and Me —

And yet — My Primer suits me so

I would not choose — a Book to know

    Than...

  • On the World you colored

    Morning painted rose —

    Idle his Vermillion

    Aimless crept the Glows

    Over Realms of Orchards

    I the Day before

    Conquered with the Robin —

    Misery - how fair

    Till your wrinkled Finger

    Shoved the sun away

    Midnight's awful Pattern
    ...

Since all the Riches of this World

May be gifts from the Devil & Earthly Kings

I should suspect that I worshipd the Devil

If I thankd my God for Worldly things

  • Spring comes on the World —

    I sight the Aprils —

Hueless to me until thou come

    As, till the Bee

    Blossoms stand negative,

    Touched to Conditions

    By a Hum.

  • The going from a world we know

    To one a wonder still

    Is like the child's adversity

    Whose vista is a hill,

    Behind the hill is sorcery

    And everything unknown,

    But will the secret compensate

    For climbing it alone?

  • The World — feels Dusty

When We stop to Die —

We want the Dew — then —

    Honors — taste dry —

    Flags — vex a Dying face —

    But the least Fan

    Stirred by a friend's Hand —

Cools — like the Rain —

    Mine be the Ministry

    When thy Thirst comes —

    And Hybla...

  • The World — stands — solemner — to me —

Since I was wed — to Him —

    A modesty befits the soul

    That bears another's — name —

A doubt — if it be fair — indeed —

To wear that perfect — pearl —

The Man — upon the Woman — binds —

To clasp her soul — for all —

    A prayer, that it more...

  • These Strangers, in a foreign World,

    Protection asked of me —

Befriend them, lest Yourself in Heaven

    Be found a Refugee —
